The School of Historical, Philosophical and Religious Studies and Center for Political Thought and Leadership present: "The Rise of Transatlantic Populism: Germany, the United States and the Politics of Anxiety."Crister Garrett is professor of American history and culture at the University of Leipzig in Germany. Both the recipient of Fulbright and German Academic Exchange Service funding, Garrett conducts research on contemporary American politics and society, especially in an international context.  Current research projects include "Contesting the Transatlantic Space", "Narratives of Security", and "Constructing Practices for American Foreign Policy." These projects are supported by the U.S. government different foundations such as the Robert Bosch Foundation and the Thyssen Foundation.
